Create catalogue items

Use this guide to create gift cards and retail products, and to apply the rules for discount codes.

The following requirements depend on the requested item type. Supply all other required fields shown in the reference as well.

Type	Requirements
Fixed gift card	Supply fixed_amount; omit or null both flexible bounds.
Flexible gift card	Supply minimum_amount and maximum_amount, with minimum no greater than maximum; omit or null fixed_amount.
Standalone product	Omit base_product_id; leave color and size empty.
Base product	Omit base_product_id; leave variant attributes empty and stock_quantity at zero.
Variant	Supply base_product_id and at least one non-blank variant attribute (color or size).

Discount codes (the /coupons/ resource) apply to one-off purchases only. Discount codes configured for subscriptions are not exposed and subscription_mode is not part of the contract. Discount code usages (/coupon-usages/) are read-only: POST /coupon-usages/ and PATCH /coupon-usages/{id}/ return 405. Discount codes use expiration_date and the read-only is_disabled field. Gift-card fixed_amount accepts two fractional digits.

Company financial configuration can prevent gift-card or sellable-product creation or activation. This setup is not editable through V2. Arrange it with the company in Back Office before repeating a rejected request; changing unrelated request fields will not resolve it.
